Donald Trump Leads Joe Biden In Key Battleground States – North Carolina & Georgia

Former President Donald Trump leads President Joe Biden in two major states – North Carolina and Georgia. In both states, Trump gets his popularity and support primarily from the Black Voters and Young Voters. According to MaristPoll, Trump (51%) edges Biden (47%) by four percentage points among Georgia’s registered voters. Among those who plan to definitely vote in North Carolina, Trump again leads Biden by 51 percent to 48 percent.

When it comes to the issues, most Georgians believe that Trump would be a better candidate to manage immigration (56%), as well as the economy (57%). But most Georgians (51%) believe Biden would be a better choice when it comes to abortion policy. There is disagreement among state residents over who would be best at upholding democracy. Of the two candidates, 50% think Biden is stronger, while 49% think Trump is more qualified to deal with the situation.

Both Trump and Biden have turned their focus back to the general election, focusing on states that are considered to be battlegrounds and emphasizing their individual records while painting the other as a danger to the country.

Age and mental health have been major campaign themes for both Trump and Biden, with Trump characterizing Biden as unsuitable for government and Biden accusing Trump of undermining. And North Carolina’s residents are also disturbed by President Biden’s mental health as 59 percent believe Biden’s mental health is a ‘real concern.’

NBC News reported:

“In a private meeting at the White House in January, allies of the president had just told him that his poll numbers in Michigan and Georgia had dropped over his handling of the war between Israel and Hamas.

Both are battleground states he narrowly won four years ago, and he can’t afford any backsliding if he is to once again defeat Donald Trump. He began to shout and swear, a lawmaker familiar with the meeting said.”

Lee M. Miringoff, Director of the Marist Institute for Public Opinion, said, “North Carolina has been a battleground state for several presidential election cycles and remains so in 2024. Both Biden and Trump have secured their base. The tale of the tape will be who commands independent voters and voters who dislike both presidential candidates.”

On Wednesday, President Donald Trump said in his Breitbart interview, “Number one, I’m honored to be the one representing the great Republican Party, It’s very important. I thought I would be. I didn’t think it would be this fast. I thought we had some candidates who would be tougher than they were that didn’t do as well as some people thought they would.”

Recalling his triumphant GOP primary campaign, Trump expresses his pride in his team, the policies, problems, and personality he prioritized throughout it. However, he acknowledged that there is still a “long way to go” until November 5th, when the general election will take place, and he recognized that he would be facing off against Biden.
